34 Gyrn Ddu E, Llanaelhaearn
PRN 1696 NGR SH405466 SAM

A large cairn 15m diameter and 2.4m high, which survives at an unusually steep angle on the west. This appears to be because it had a steep, laid revetting wall of blocks, about 3m of which is exposed on the west. The immense amount of stone in the cairn is made evident by the relatively small amount that had to be robbed to build the 1.5m high 19th century boundary wall that crosses it. The cairn lies on the S end of the summit, and so was designed to look towards or be viewed from the S.
