Historic background

An area which was owned partly by the Vaynol estate, partly by the Glascoed estate. It was enclosed by the late eighteenth century, possibly much earlier.

An area of small irregular enclosures and woods, and winding lanes, dominated by the hillfort at
Dinas Dinorwig. It includes the church at Llanddeiniolen.
